Your hands
looking great is important.

These are my suggestions for great nail care during pregnancy. If you are currently wearing tips and acrylic you may want to opt for something else, here are my reasons why:

During the classic application of tips and acrylic overlay a large amount of dust is emanated. Also, if a drill is used to file the acrylic, usually large amounts of 'drill bit' dust is in the air at a close proximity to you.

All this airborne dust can't be good for you, ever wonder why some nail technicians wear masks? Not to mention the awful, strong odors of nail primers, acetone, and acrylic monomer liquid. You wouldn't want to inhale other toxins, why subject yourself to nail chemicals?

A less aggressive nail enhancement which is much more pregnancy friendly are 'gel' nails. There is usually little or no dust, minimal or no filing, and no odors. They are a great choice and look very natural.

A win, win choice is always 'il natural' manicure. A great choice for mom to be, you may want to consider no having long unnatural nails during the first few awkward months of diaper changes and handling your beautiful, delicate newborn.

Pedicures-

Swollen, tired achy feet, sounds like your pregnant and working hard! Here are a few simple tips to have a safe and enjoyable pedicure experience during pregnancy.

What a treat a soothing pedicure can be, a must for pregnant women. Just remember these few professional tips for a great pedicure result.

First and foremost always look for a 'fully licensed' salon with licensed professional nail techs. Sanitation and decontamination is vital in a professional nail salon daily operations.

Lack of proper cleaning procedures can result in many negative infections, diseases and fungal contamination.

All tools should be discarded or thoroughly 'sanitized' after each use, if you're not sure bring your own supplies!!!

Ask that the soaking water not be extremely hot, do not let the nail tech cut the corners of your toenails (this causes ingrown toe nails) especially if your feet are swollen, do not have your feet razored. (This is very dangerous) Have cuticles pushed back, not cut. These small tips can avoid larger issues later.
